Warmer Times at Wesley Hall
by Narzema Arif
In the Sheffield suburb of Crookes, Wesley Hall Methodist Church are experiencing warmer services now as a result of Clearview installing secondary glazing on four of the building’s windows. The church, built in 1907, is busy throughout the week, hosting activities of a range of local societies including a slimming group and a nursery, hence it is a very busy atmosphere and environment.
Increasing energy expenses combined with draughty leaded window panes meant that heating the hall was costly and cold. Matt Irons, the building manager of the church, investigated several strategies to increase the building’s energy efficiency. A member of the congregation had came across Clearview’s experience installing secondary glazing in churches and passed on the feedback. Matt had a conversation with an official at a 20-mile away church at Rawmarsh, where Clearview had recently installed secondary glazing.
“I was told that the church was delighted with the secondary glazing which had been fitted, because it had made rooms much warmer.” – Matt Irons
He then requested a quote from Clearview to warm up Wesley Hall. Thirteen windows in four rooms have been fixed so far by the company, and the remaining windows will be fixed whenever the church receives the necessary finances. Wesley Hall selected a frame hue that complements the original Edwardian stonework on their building, while Clearview’s secondary glazing is available in a broad spectrum of colours to blend in with structures of all ages. In three days, the thirteen windows were installed.
“The secondary glazing has certainly made our rooms warmer, and therefore much more comfortable.” – Matt Irons
Secondary glass from Clearview may slide, tilt, or turn to meet your needs. It works with almost every type of window. Because it scarcely shows from the inside or outside and doesn’t interfere with the original window, it is perfect for period properties and listed structures. A variety of unique RAL finishes and a broad selection of hues, such as white, mahogany, and light oak, are offered for the frames. Compared to replacement windows, it is far more affordable and simple to install, open, and clean.
Clearview offers secondary glazing units that you can install yourself or have their experts do it for you. Whichever solution you select, the glass may be fitted year-round and there is no need to redecorate. For more information contact 0114 308 0530 or get a instant quote today.
