Clearview systems are designed for internal applications and are not intended for use in external applications where they are exposed to the elements.

The units are manufactured from a combination of a slim seasoned timber perimeter sub-frame pre-attached to extruded powder-coated aluminium profiles, which contain the glass sections, to which numerous options are available. Fully Assembled, Pre-glazed Systems :

Our systems are easy to install, as they are in most cases supplied fully assembled, pre-glazed, and installation-ready. We provide comprehensive, step-by-step measuring and installation guidance, as well as precise frame profile details, all accessible via our Help Centre.

Units will be supplied in a flat-pack form if both dimensions are over 1800mm, alternatively you can specify this during the quotation process in the extras area. This option does carry a surcharge.

The system should blend with the existing window to ensure it does not look unsightly or out of place. Slimline sounds tempting, but unobtrusive is the key! Soundproofing: For the best result, maximise the air gap as much as possible between the existing glass and the new secondary glass, which will do most of the work. Applying a thicker glass will also help, although this can be subject to personal preferences and budget. Thermal Insulation: The standard systems can increase the thermal insulation of the windows by as much as 65%. This can be further enhanced using Low-E glass. Whilst it cannot guarantee a total cure for condensation, it can dramatically reduce its presence and manage it far more effectively.

Performances can vary from property to property due to the unique circumstances of individuals and their buildings.

PRACTICALITY:

This does not always feature at the outset, but it is essential to consider how easy it is to live with the system once installed, including Ventilation, cleaning, maintenance and escape aspects. • If Face or Reveal fixing in the reveal/recess: Use the tolerance-reduced sizes you have taken using the Measuring Guidance.
• For example, if your window measured 1230mm x 1520mm at the narrowest points in the recess, and you deducted the recommended 10mm, you would enter/order the unit size 1220mm x 1510mm. This will ensure the unit is at least 5mm small on each of the four sides so it will fit and have some adjustability (the gaps are sealed and hidden by the trimming process).
• If Face fixing around the window – surface mounted to the internal wall, the unit needs to be bigger than the reveal/recess, so add on the frame size to each side – frame sizes detailed in the Product Brochures 
• We do not make any adjustments or assumptions on the sizes you enter on the system; the details entered are taken as the build sizes of the units you require to fit. There is a +/- 3mm manufacturing variable to the confirmed sizes.

The Standard Sub-Frame option is default set on initial product selection, applying the slimmest timber sub-frame to suit the aluminium frame profile:

• Lift-Out & SL Hinge Units – 25 x 16mm.
• Horizontal & Standard Vertical Sliders – 43 x 16mm.
• Tilt-in Vertical Sliders & HD Hinge Units – 50 x 16mm.
• The first number refers to the front-to-back depth of the frame, the second number is the Width of the timber facing you.

The XL timber sub-frame (Extra Long) can be applied as a preference or as required, extending the sub-frame which:

1. Enables a pre-drilled reveal fix hole to be applied through the timber, behind the aluminium track, rather than self-drilled through the track on site by the customer/ fitter. This gives a simpler, cleaner finish.
2. Extends the frame slightly away from the primary frame to help accommodate protruding items, such as handles, catches, staff beads etc.
3. Enables different systems to be coupled together, stack or form Bay Window structures, giving a consistent frame depth.
4. Slightly increases the glass to glass air-gap when face fixing.

The XL frame is available on the following units:

• Lift-Outs & Hinged Unit SL: 43 x 16mm/62 x 16mm
• Horizontal & Standard Vertical Sliders – 62 x 16mm/70 x 16
• Tilt-in Vertical Sliders, HD Hinged & Double Hinged Units – 70 x 16mm.

The Outer Fixed frame remains consistent to the specification selected, irrespective of glass thickness.

The Ultra profile: This refers only to the glazing panel supplied with the units, the outer frame remains the same.

• If a Standard Frame or XL is selected, and the glass selected is to a maximum 6.8mm glass, the standard glazing panel is applied.
• If an 8.8mm or 10.8mm glass is selected, the glazing panel only will default set to the Ultra Profile. This is a slightly larger section by approximately 2mm. The outer frame remains the same as the standard/XL versions.
• Why is this relevant? If the same section was applied to cover all sizes, the thinner glass options would not sit snugly in the section.

Clearview Supply Only standard systems are normally dispatched within 4-6-weeks from customer approval. This would be for rectangular style units, but includes splayed reveals and bays if required. More complex requirements, for example, arched windows, would take a little longer. Details would be confirmed at the time of order.

Installation (if you are using our installation service): This is subject to location, and the specification of your order, but we endeavour to complete within 10-14 weeks from formal survey.

Due to the nature of the product sizes, weights and glass structures, they are not appropriate for mainstream courier services. We therefore have a dedicated delivery arrangement to ensure as safe a distribution as possible, minimising damage. To make this a viable process, it cannot be considered as a standard customer service, but a service to enable the delivery of the units to site in good order. This has unavoidable limitations, but we do all we can to provide as smooth a process as possible.

Delivery Charges are calculated on the delivered unit value only. Ancillary items, e.g. Fixing Kits or Blinds etc, or other items shipped separately, are not included in the unit cost value.

This is a dedicated delivery service, not a mainstream courier, limitations therefore apply compared with larger national courier companies.

There is a minimum order value charge, plus a geographical charge to some seldom visited locations.

• For all Unit Order values below £425.00 + VAT, a minimum order value charge of £50+VAT (not including ancillary items) will apply.
• For geographical delivery chargeable areas, this will be subject to specific location and unit order value.
• If your order value is over the minimum threshold, many locations will be free delivery.
• If your location is in geographical charge area, the cost will be confirmed on quoted confirmation with postcode.
• If the order value is both in a geographical chargeable area and under the minimum threshold, the delivery charges will be combined.

• Delivery Dates are confirmed in advance, but we are unable to accept specific date or time requests. If the initial date offered cannot be accommodated, you can postpone until the next delivery slot available.
• In most cases, units will be delivered fully assembled & fully glazed. Units will be delivered in a flat-pack assembly format if both total unit width & height dimensions are over 1800mm, or one of the dimensions is over 4000mm.

Charges, if applicable:

• This is a single charge per drop (not per unit), and confirmed on quotation or verification.

The delivery is a dedicated service (not a mainstream courier) , shipping only the secondary systems using a small fleet of Mercedes Sprinter vans (or equivalent). Delivery dates will be notified shortly after approval. Times and dates cannot be selected or specified.

Irrespective of location, any re-delivery caused by an initial delivery failure as a result of customer error or oversite will be chargeable.

What if my location is notified as “Direct Delivery Not Available”? If you are based on the UK mainland, but receive this notice, it is considered the delivery charge that we would need to apply is likely to be cost prohibitive, options are:

• Email us to get a direct delivery price at: [email protected]. Include your postcode and quote reference number.
• Consider an alternative delivery location where the units can be accepted at a lower/free delivery charge, and manage your own freight forward arrangements. Please note limitations [click here].
• Units can be collected from the factory in South Yorkshire by prior arrangement.

Can the driver assist with unloading? Standard delivery is to kerbside only. Drivers are only insured to unload to the threshold of the property: we advise that customers make arrangements to assist and to handle the units thereafter.

Can you deliver overseas? No, we can deliver to any mainland UK port or address, for the customer to arrange their own onward shipping arrangements. This is in line with the standard delivery statement above.

Note: if the unit/s are transported to another to another geographical location from the original drop site, claims for damages cannot be accepted.

Fixing Options general interpretations

Face & Reveal Fixing is simply the direction the screw holes are placed. Face fix: front to back. Reveal fix: through the sides.

• Face Fixing: this is the default set option – Front to back fixing, the unit is fitted in the reveal screw fixed directly onto the face of the primary window frame – tolerance deductions are recommended to ensure the unit will comfortably fit into the reveal / aperture.
• Surface Mounting: Similar to face fixing – but the unit will be measured and screw fixed to the internal room wall around the reveal. The unit will need to be bigger than the reveal – see product brochures for frame sizes. (This is a less common option, needed if there is no reveal or there are obstacles in the reveal, opening inward windows, etc.)
• Reveal Fixing: The unit is placed in the reveal, side fixing, into the left right, top & sill of the reveal. This is applied to increase the distance from the primary window to the back of the unit (increasing soundproofing performance), accommodating protruding handles or catches etc, or if there is insufficient frame available to face fix into.  Measurements should be taken where the unit will be placed in the reveal and the same tolerance deduction process applied to ensure fit. . You can select a self drill option through the track as the most cost effect, or select an XL (Extra Long) sub-frame and this will be pre-drilled for you. The options can be applied in the modify area of the FastQuote.
• Hole drilling arrangements:
  • Standard Sub-frame– default frames, namely: 25 x 16 / 43 x 16 / 50 x 16.

• • Face Fix: Pre-drilled in factory
  • Reveal Fix: self-drilled on site by customer.

• XL (Extra-long) Sub-Frame – namely 43 x 16mm/62 x 16mm/70 x 16mm.
  • Face and Reveal fix Pre-drilled in factory.
• Special Timbers: Namely bevelled for splayed reveals or bays, extra wide e.g. 43 x 50mm – self drilled by the customer.

Yes, we can provide most types of glass, tailored to the specific needs of your project.

The standard glass is 4mm toughened. This safety glass is a minimum requirement where building regulations demand health and safety considerations, including the distance from the floor and doors.

All our glass options conform to BS6206: 1981/BS EN 12600 for impact resistance.

We do not offer float (non-safety glass).

Subject to panel size, this may default to 6mm toughened.

Laminated, Acoustic, Thermal Low-E, and Obscure glass options can be accommodated.

The standard for Sliding, Lift-Out, Hinged & Insert panels is single-glazed.

This ensures the frame profiles are a manageable size to operate as an unobtrusive secondary window, creating a double-glazed arrangement with the primary window. This offers significantly higher soundproofing performance than double glazing (which is a poor acoustic barrier). Thermally, it provides equivalent performance to many double-glazed products – see the performance data in the Help Centre.

• The Vision range can accommodate up to a 6.8mm glass.
• The Vision Ultra Panel fits the standard frame options, but can accommodate between an 8.8mm to a 10.8mm glass.
• The Vision HD Hinged System can accommodate up to a 28mm Sealed double glazed unit.

What is Low-E Glass?

Low-emissivity glass (or low-e glass as it is commonly referred to) is a type of energy-efficient glass designed to prevent heat escaping through your windows to the cold outdoors. Low-e glass, such as the Pilkington K Glass™ Range, has an invisible coating which  reduces heat transfer and reflects interior heat back into your room. This can offer a 5-10% increase to the thermal performance of a non-coated glass.

What is Laminated Glass & Acoustic Laminate Glass.

It is difficult to give exact details, as every property and everybody can be affected differently by noise pollution, however the science confirms, Clearview Secondary Glazing can reduce noise by as much as 80% or by over 50 decibels, (a reduction of 3dB is equivalent to halving the noise energy) this is five times greater than either double or triple glazing. This is subject to final specification and installation limitations; these details can be clarified during a consultation with one of our advisors. However, the primary goal is to create as much space as possible between the existing glass and the new secondary glass. The larger the air gap, the better the performance. If the space allows, try to get at least 100mm, to an optimum of 150mm to 200mm. Where space is limited, a thicker glass will provide more protection. We always recommend starting with a 6mm glass for soundproofing.

Predicting the levels of soundproofing you will achieve is extremely difficult due to the many variables concerning you and your property. However, following these basic principles will ensure you maximise the potential for the best results.

In order of importance: –

1. The Airgap
   • This is the gap glass-to-glass.
   • The wider the gap, the better the soundproofing performance.
   • Use whatever space is available, to an optimum of 200mm+.
2. The Glass
   • The thicker the glass, the better the overall performance,
   • The combination of glass and airgap will optimise performance.
3. Refining your choice
   • With a limited airgap, consider an acoustic glass option to optimise performance
   • Where larger airgaps are possible, acoustic glass will outperform a lower cost option. However, increases in performance are incrementally smaller.
4. Choice of System
   • Choose the system best suited to your primary window design and your needs for access.

We have test certification which confirms that Clearview Secondary Glazing can enhance the thermal insulation of a single-glazed window by as much as 65% or a U-Value of 1.868 W/m²K (a U-Value is the formula for measuring heat loss, the bigger the number the more inefficient the window is. A standard single-glazed window has a recognised U-Value of approximately 5.8 W/m²K. This performance is better than a Class C, with some products this performance can be as much as A+. English Heritage and Historic Scotland carried out research through Glasgow University, which showed secondary glazing out performed double-glazed replacement windows. This is subject to final specification and installation limitations. These details can be clarified during a consultation with one of our advisers. Clearview Secondary Glazing has a proven track record of eliminating or significantly reducing condensation problems to the point where they are no longer a concern. The naturally occurring problem of condensation varies from window to window and property to property. While we can’t guarantee a total cure, the fitting of Secondary Glazing creates a manageable chamber, reducing most of the problem. Moisture absorption products can be placed into this chamber, making it ten times more effective. For more details, see our Condensation pages.

The outcome of condensation is genuinely unique to each specific window and can vary in the degree of the problem, even with windows in the same room. It is extremely common for windows to have differing levels of condensation after the installation of secondary glazing. It remains a trial-and-error process to try to manage the problem for each window. Some windows see an instant improvement, and even a complete cure, while others take longer to acclimatise and dry out, sometimes never being completely cured.

The problem is wherever there is air, there is moisture; wherever there is moisture and surface to air temperature differentials change sufficiently, it is impossible to stop the dewpoint and the moisture condensing on the cold surface. Sometimes, over-sealing the window can contribute to the problem by creating a sealed chamber where the moisture cannot escape, thereby creating a recurring problem of evaporation and condensation.

Secondary glazing cannot stop condensation where the temperature differential occurs, but it can far more effectively manage the problem.

1. It will help to reduce the moisture content in the chamber between the internal and external glass.
2. It will create a more stable equilibrium of air temperature, reducing the chance of the dewpoint being reached.
3. The introduction of silica bags will soak up residual or recurring moisture, we would suggest 150g to 250g bag sizes; the larger the window, the bigger the bag needed.
4. Newley installed systems – the fabric of the building will have been exposed to moister for a considerable period, so there will be a drying out period where moisture will be evaporating into the chamber. Sealants and fillers will contribute to this. This can take weeks, even months, and is subject to the time of year.
5. We are aware of an increased issue and notification of condensation, not with the systems, but with increased customer enquiries concerning the problem in their properties. This appears to be the exceptionally wet weather combined with temperature fluctuations and energy/heating management. The high degree of moisture and fluctuations in temperatures increases the appearance of the problem.

The best and quickest solution we can advise and recommend is the introduction of silica bags into the chamber. This accelerates the drying, soaks up residual moisture, and can keep the environment dryer for longer periods of time. Silica bags of varying sizes can be purchased from the likes of Amazon or eBay.

There is the temptation to keep opening the secondary glazing to “mop” up this moisture, but all this does is start the process over again. We recommend leaving the silica packs in the cavity and resisting the temptation to open the secondary. In our experience the moisture will reduce as things balance out, but if the units are regularly opened, the issue is unlikely to improve.

Additional suggestions to improve the control of condensation in the home:

1. Increase the running time of kitchen or other ventilation fans.
2. Encourage moisture to escape by opening fireplace dampers or vents.
3. Open doors and external windows for a few minutes each day to air out your house.
4. Air kitchens, laundry rooms, and bathrooms during or just following use, closing any doors which allow steam to permeate the rest of the house.

Panel movement in the units is to be expected and if the panels are sealing and interlocking when closed, the seal integrity will be intact.

Supply & Installation service: If you are within our Installation Area [click here], we do not arrange speculative site assessment visits. The process requires an initial information gathering, whereby the customer sends photos and rough sizes of their windows. We assess these and offer proposals and price estimates. If the project moves forward, a formal site survey is carried out for unit manufacturing purposes.

The Measuring Process is easier than you may think. Whilst very important it does not require pinpoint accuracy.

You should ensure, when fitting into a reveal or within a frame boarder,  that the unit is slightly smaller than the tightest narrowest points. This ensures the unit will fit, and gives some room for adjustment. We recommend a 10mm tolerance deduction to the total measured width and height; this is the build size of the frame and the sizes used to get a quote. Gaps and distortions around the frame are all hidden and sealed by the Edging Trim.

If you are surface mounting around a window reveal to the internal wall or around a glass panel (face fixing) – you will need to ensure the frame is wider than the recess to get a fixing into the frame/face of the area being treated. This would require adding the width of the frame on each of the four sides of the window – unit frame size details can be accessed in the Product Brochures [click here].

If your windows are too large for a single sized unit, you can couple units together either side-by-side or stacked one-on-the other. This can be done timber-to-timber, or using a coupling bar, which replaces the sub-frame where the units connect. These can be added in the modify area of the FastQuote – “Add Extras.”

If you are stacking horizontal sliders which are wider than 1200mm wide, you will need to apply 70 x 16mm XL sub-frames and box support bars for each interlocking panel section to support the weight and prevent sagging.

No, we can only offer this service with our installation option. Following our measuring guidance is easier than you may think.

Secondary windows, or glazing, offer all the benefits of double glazing: improved heat retention, lower heating costs, reduced greenhouse emissions, enhanced noise reduction, improved property security, and significantly reduced draughts and condensation. It is a lower-cost option to complete window replacement, and there is no disposal to landfill. It’s quick and easy to install, and generally does not require any post-installation decoration. Most importantly, secondary glazing gives an improved living environment. Many existing windows have lasted 100 years or more, with little maintenance. Secondary glazing can preserve them for many more, protecting the character, charm  and heritage of a property for future generations to appreciate. They will outlast many replacement options without any disposal to landfill, and with the enhanced performance they offer a very environmentally responsible solution.

Fully Assembled, Pre-glazed Systems :

Our systems are easy-install, in most cases supplied fully assembled, pre-glazed, and installation ready. We provide comprehensive step-by-step measuring and installation guidance and precise frame profile details, all accessible via the Help Centre.

Units will be supplied in a flat-pack form if both dimensions are over 1800mm, or you can specify this during the quotation process in the ‘extras area’. This option does carry a surcharge.

• Vision Vertical Sliders

• A Sash style window system with spring balances that replicates a traditional weighted sash window.
• Twin Track, timber and aluminium profile.
• Glazing panel orientation – the default setting is the bottom panel on the front track closest to the room, which slides up in front of the top panel; the top panel slides down behind the bottom panel.
• Available in 3 product options.
• • Standard Sliding: BVS – Both Panels will slide up & down to a set travel limit based on panel size and weight. There will be some access limitations; magnetic window cleaning devices can be used to assist with cleaning access. As an optional extra at the point of specifying the unit build details, the glazing panel orientation can be switched to top, allowing the top panel to slide down in front of the bottom panel. The orientation defaults to top with arched units.
  • Glide: BVSG – Panels can slide past each other – extra cleaning access. (cannot be arched or top oriented). The slide travel limit will be the same as the standard BVS, but the panels can be manipulated past each other, giving greater cleaning access to the back of the glass.
  • Tilt-in: TBVS – panels slide and tilt for easy cleaning access. Subject to the size of the panels, the tilt angle is approximately 40°; small panels will have a smaller tilt angle. With panels under 400mm, the tilt arms cannot be fitted; however, the panel can still be tilted without support. In this case, manual support of the panel would be required.

• With all models, the panels will not slide fully to the midpoint; there can be an approximate 60mm-150mm offset at the overlap point when the panels are fully opened. This is subject to width, height, and weight.
• Maximum single panel height: 1800mm.

Note: When onsite reveal fix DIY track drilling, you cannot (do not) drill the top left/right side sections of the frame; this can cause damage to the spiral springs contained in the tubes. Vision Vertical Slider Glide

• The bottom panel features a finger grab fin to easily lift it up for standard day-to-day use.
• To lower the top panel, first raise the bottom panel to its fullest extent. Reach in and under to access the finger grab fin on the bottom profile of the upper panel. You can then either: –
• • Lower both sashes down to access the primary top sash.
  • With a little force and whilst supporting the lower panel, pull the top panel down and past the interlock point. There is a degree of friction here, particularly with newer units; this can appear as if it doesn’t want to pass, but it will.
  • Simply reverse the process to return the unit to its closed position.
• Not ideal on windows where the panels are notably offset, e.g., 70/30 split top and bottom panel, as accessing the internal top panel grab fin may be difficult to reach.

One item to consider with the Lift-Out is the panel weight for longer-term manual handling; large units and/or thicker glass combinations can create very heavy panels. The weights are given in the quotes.

Vision Insert Panels

• The most basic of secondary glazing systems, an aluminium frame 17mm x 19mm surrounds a piece of glass.
• Drilled on site, 7mm from the external edge of the frame. Front-to-back Face Fixing only ( 3mm screw – suggested length 40mm, subject to panel weight; notably heavy panels may require a longer screw length, screws not supplied)
• Measuring:
  • If fitting into a recess, we recommend applying the standard 10mm tolerance deduction for the panel build size, ensuring that the widest part of the panel fits into the narrowest part of the recess. – for example, if the recess was 900mm x 1000mm, the panel build would be 890mm x 990mm.
  • If surface mounting around a piece of glass, ensure the measurements taken are approximately 25mm wider than the glass area, giving sufficient face to screw into. For example, if the glazed area being covered was 900mm x 1000mm, the build size would be 925mm x 1025mm.
• Semi-permanent installation requiring unscrewing fixings to remove.

Yes. In most cases, secondary glazing meets the requirements of Buildings and Conservation regulations associated with both Grade II & I listed buildings, as it is an entirely reversible installation that does not effect the fabric of the building. However, subject to your property listing status, we recommend liaising with your local conservation officer who will be able to give you further advice.

Primary windows are rarely square and parallel-sided, so you need to ensure the widest part of the secondary unit (including the sub-frame) will fit into the narrowest part of the area it is being fitted. Any gaps around the frame are then covered and sealed with the edging trim supplied with the units. It is imperative that the units are not too tight, and most problems occur because of this. Whilst some adjustments can be made to the Sub-Frame, if the unit is too tight, it won’t fit and cannot be used. If the unit is squeezed in, it can become distorted, causing operational and performance problems. A small gap around the units ensures manoeuvrability and position to ensure the perfect fit.

The recommended 10mm tolerance deduction is for guidance only, as the aperture/reveal distortion will dictate unit size/fit adjustments and requirements.

No, we are unable to determine the specific fixings and packing requirements that may be needed due to the vast range of differing window styles and materials. All fixing material requirements, screws, packers etc are detailed in the installation guide.

We do offer optional fixing kits, these can be added to your quotation at the point of creation. or you can visit our online store.

Trim: With white units, the standard trim is supplied free of charge. It is a 20mm wide uPVC, which is easy to work with, matches the unit’s colour, and is maintenance-free.

Please note, the trim is an industry standard product. If you find that an alternative trim is required after delivery, this can be purchased from local DIY merchants or a variety of online retailers. We are unable to supply trim as a standalone item.

Yes. In most cases, Clearview can provide glazing units to fit most existing profiles, even complete circular designs. Alternatively, we can design a bespoke solution. If you send us some images, we can offer advice. However, in most cases, we require a template for manufacturing.

The Gasket is simply the rubber seal which holds and seals the glass into the glazing panel and is available in white or black.

For white, cream, or lighter-coloured units, this would default to a White Rubber.

For darker colour units this, would be default set to Black Rubber.

If you have a preference, you can override the default setting and pick black or white for your unit.

The visibility of the gasket is minimal, with just a few millimetres showing between the glass and aluminium frame.

Unfortunately, we cannot recommend fitters, as it is not possible to maintain an up-to-date national database of installers who accept work of this nature or whose quality of customer service is suitable. We prefer the customer to vet and verify their own installer.

The DIY approach can be easier than you may think. If you are not confident with DIY, you may have friends, family, or neighbours who are and could be called on for help.

If you are still struggling to find assistance, we can suggest using the Which ?Trusted Trader service. Just enter your postcode and search for carpenter/joiners, this will give you a list of tradespeople in your area who would be more than capable of carrying out the work.

Other than drilling several small fixing holes into the existing window frame or surround, your primary window remains untouched and fully intact when you install Clearview secondary glazing. You will still be able to access your primary window all year, and in most cases, with a hassle-free sliding or hinging option. This allows for instant opening for ventilation, cleaning, and maintenance.

Clearview systems are designed specifically for internal applications where they are not exposed to the elements.

If fitted externally, no claims can be accepted against warranties, guarantees or performance or any consequential aspects related to the installation.

No, unit or profile samples are not available. Due to the range of profiles and section types, as well as the weight and bulk of the materials, it is simply not practical to manage sample options or a department to facilitate this.

No – in most cases, unless your room is already undergoing decoration, the installation of Clearview Secondary Glazing does not require your room or area to be cleared or covered, except to allow access to the window area. Your room will be left in a comparable condition to before the installation.

How do I make changes to the quote [click here]

All units are subject to Minimum & Maximum Build Sizes, which also include:

• The glass type appropriate for the unit.
• The total width & Height of the unit type.
• The Glazing Panel Size & Weight in any of the sliding unit types.

If the quote will not calculate and no notification is shown confirming the problem, it is likely you are trying to create a specification that the system cannot calibrate, and you will need to make adjustments to bring it back into a viable build specification.

Scenarios:

The Width x Height x Weight will therefore determine the production capability.

1. If the Width or Height is too large or small for the unit type being created, you will receive a notification to tell which is incorrect.
2. Units are default set to a 4mm glass thickness during the initial quote creation, if the unit size goes above a certain threshold, it will default to 6mm to ensure safety and stability. The thinner glass will cause flexing and other potential problems.
3. Horizontal Sliders:
   • Unit heights over 1800mm will default to 6mm glass thickness minimum.
   • If any of the panels are over 1200mm wide, they will default to 6mm glass minimum
4. Vertical Sliders:
   • The Maximum Height of each sliding Panel  is 1800mm within the maximum overall unit height of 3300mm – Subject to the overall Width x Height ratio this may default to 6mm glass for the panel sizes required.
   • Spiral Spring Balances – panel support mechanisms. These are sized and calibrated based on the size & weight of the panels.
   • If the unit is very small and below a certain threshold, it will default to an 8mm glass; this is necessary, as the minimum available spring size overpowers the weight of a thinner glass, forcing the panels to open without control.
5. Lift-Outs and Hinged units:
   • 6mm glass will default apply for any units over 1800mm in height.

If the unit will not calculate, try a different glass or adjust any panel sizes. If this does not work, it is likely that the unit specification is not viable.

At the top of the page, under the My Orders Field, you will see the order details and the options to View / Approve / Decline –

View the Order & select the option as appropriate.

• If approved, your order will be moved straight to production. Once approved, the order cannot be modified; if changes are requested thereafter, additional charges will apply.
• If Declined, you will be transferred back to the modification area where you can apply the required changes.

1. Use the Recalculate button to apply any changes made until you are happy that all changes are applied. Use the Confirm button to formally register the changes; this will create a new order version number.
2. Once the specification changes have been applied and confirmed:
   1. If the price remains the same or less than £5.00 difference from the original order value, you can approve the new version for production. A credit or debit charge will not be applicable.
   2. If the changes increase the cost by more than £5.00, you will be transferred to the Make Payment place, where you can pay the value difference. Once the transaction is confirmed, you will be transferred back to the Approval page.
   3. If the changes decrease the order value, the difference will be credited back to the original purchase method used.

The order details will be sent to our technical department for assessment and verification. Subject to the time and day the order was placed, you will receive an order update notification, which is normally within two working days of payment.

• In most cases, the order update will confirm that the details have been verified and will request that you make a final check and approval for production sign-off. You will be requested to log in to your account, view the details, and approve or decline the production.

If Approved – The order will move to production and progress updates will be notified in due course.

Glass:

The very nature of glass makes it difficult to offer any form or warranty or guarantee in relation to issues or damage, we review queries on an individual basis, based on the following criteria:

• Maximum warranty period – 14-days from delivery.
• Glass Imperfections or blemishes: if the issue can be detected with normal vision from a distance of 2 meters, we will offer to collect any removable panels or complete units where panel removal is not possible, for rectification and return.
• Smashed or cracked Glass: We only supply Toughened or Laminated Glass. Any faults within the glass structure will normally cause failure with minimal flexing or movement, therefore we expect that the manual handling of the glass from manufacture, unit conversion and distribution, will stress the glass to the extent where any faults or flaws will become apparent before or by the point of delivery. Failure thereafter can only be considered as handling or interaction with circumstances outside its structural capability.

If you experience a problem with your order:

Expectations: 

When the units arrive, please inspect them to ensure they are correct for your application. If we do not hear back from you within a period of 10 days, we will assume they have been accepted:

• The timber sub-frame can be damaged, scratched, chipped, cracked, split, with blemishes and marked. This is normal; the sub-frame is designed to be chopped and notched on-site to assist with installation and is hidden when the installation is complete. It also serves as additional transit protection to the aluminium frame.
• Custom Timber Sub-frames, e.g. bevelled or bays, will not be pre-drilled.
• The frame can be out of square as they are not a rigid structure until installed. The installation process will pull the unit back into a square shape.
• Panel operating buttons may be tight as the units will have moved in transit, so manipulating the panel to free these up may be required.
• The units can be a little dusty or conveyor-marked, with small amounts of swarf. They are direct from the factory, and it is standard practice that they will require a clean down following the installation process. To improve efficiency and reduce costs, the units are cleaned to an expected level, but with the requirement for a final clean down upon completion.

• REPORTING A PROBLEM: If you have fully assessed the unit referring to the above expectations but a problem is evident:
  1. Please do not install the unit.
  2. Please send an email notification as soon as possible to [email protected] within 10-days of receiving delivery.
  3. Identify the product and problem, and where possible provide images to help us identify the issue.
  4. This will be registered and assessed, and we will respond as promptly as possible.

CLAIMS: In the first instance, any claims should be submitted by email describing the issue to [email protected].  Where possible, include photos of the issue being described. Note: if the unit/s are transported to another geographical location from the original drop site, claims for damages will not be accepted.
